DFS Hub is a powerful tool for creating hand-built lineups, but it also has an easy-to-use built-in NFL DFS optimizer.
An optimizer is like a quick-pick lottery ticket but with strategy behind it instead of random luck. An optimizer is pretty complex behind the scenes but in DFS Hub’s Lineup Builder, the Optimizer creates a full lineup in just 3 clicks.
Here’s how to use it:
1. Click the top left menu and go to the NFL DFS Lineup Builder
2. Configure your Player List with the columns and sorting you want
3. Click the lock icon next to any player (you must lock in at least one player to your lineup before optimizing it)
4. Click the <Optimize> button
5. Select the optimizer algorithm and click <Optimize Now>
That’s it! You’re done.

NFL DFS Optimizer notes
- The Optimizer creates one lineup at a time. To create multiple optimized lineups, click on <New> and follow the above steps again.
- The Optimizer only works on “Classic” slates for now
- The only algorithm currently available is “Based on my sorting.”
- What that means is that the optimizer chooses players from your Player List in a top-down fashion, based on how you sort the Player List.
- If you want to prioritize players with high ceilings, for example, sort descending by the field [CeilingL4]
- You can optimize all positions at once or you can click on a position (e.g., “WR”) and optimize only for that position
Is optimizing your lineup a good idea?
There are many good reasons to avoid an NFL DFS optimizer altogether. If you’re not generating dozens of lineups, they are often overkill.
But optimization has its place in certain circumstances. If you want a quick and dirty method of generating lineups quickly, the Optimizer may be your ticket.
